The interesting thing about relationships is that, no matter of which kind they are, they all start off the same. They start small, slow and are sometimes rocky. As they develop they change, grow, and become varied; leaving no two relationships the same.
Thinking about this aspect of relationships, lawns and gardens come to my mind. Its like the two people starting the relationship are like two luscious and green gardens, with rich thick green grass, beautiful flowers and exotic plants in their own design and landscape. These two full gardens meet and span the space in between with an empty lot. This lot is the relationship between them. In order for the relationship to grow, the lot needs to be tilled, sown, watered and tended to by both parties, each playing their own unique role in its maintenence and growth. Just like this garden needs love, nurturing, attention and work to make it full and healthy, any relationship needs the same effort, love and attention to make it healthy and happy for all parties.
Sometimes, these relationship gardens get ignored, ill-treated, neglected due to selfish pride. These are the same gardens that fail to flourish, become unhealthy, and eventually die out.
What kind of gardens are your relationships with others?
