"I expect nothing.... I am free...." -Nikos Kazantzakis
Often we expect the most of those we love the most, that is why we are most dissappointed when loved ones do not behave in the ways we assume them to.
What if one was to give up expectations of others, and simply accept them, ourselves and everything for just what it is without making any assumptions on the outcomes,
What if we fulfill our own emotional needs, the ones we usually expect others to fill for us,
Would this then lead to a simple kind of freedom, where anything would be possible, anything would have the chance to take place, anything could be experienced.
What if instead of calculating and controlling the situation and others, we simply wait for the "anything" to unfold and take us into an unexpected, surprising journey of simplicity, joy and excitement.
On days when I have felt non-motivated and simply blue, I have searched for words of inspiration to give me that push start to get my life moving and my mind sparked once again. Often times I have had to look far, only in vain. That's when I thought, why not make my own compilation of inspirational words that I can access anytime, and share with anyone whom requires that extra boost now and again. After all they do say "see a need, fill a need".

Renunciation
"Children, old people, vagabonds laugh easily and heartily: they have nothing to lose and hope for little. In renunciation lies a delicious taste of simplicity and deep peace". - Matthieu Ricard
One might say its as easy as that.. however, as I have been discovering lately, its not so easy to give up the ego, which has been protective and our best friend this far to truly indulge in renunciation. Its similar to letting go and attaining freedom, but really are we ready to be free? and do we know what to do with all this freedom?

Letting go, and Freedom
For a person who claims she needs to let go.. I seem to ponder the subject all the time..really now sounds like I am not getting the point of letting go. ;-D
Today I realized its far more complicated than simply flicking a swith from "not letting go" to "letting go" :-) The outcome of letting go is freedom, and to me "being free" is far scarier than being bound.
How absurd does that sound, I would rather be bound by my demons and issues, cling to old habits and harmful persons rather than let go and risk being flung into the unknown realm of freedom.
Today I commit to exploring freedom versus binding, and laughter versus brooding. More on the outcomes later.
