"Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life." -- Sophia Loren
Wow, if someone as accomplished as Sophia Loren could say that.
I like this saying because it leaves so much room for improvement in life.
I have made some huge mistakes in my own life, some I have realized only in retrospect after I have lost something/someone precious to me.
The thing is, none of these mistakes I made on purpose, I didnt realize at the time what I was doing was hurtful/hateful to someone else, and I didnt know better to change.
So now in the present that I am aware of my behaviour/actions, I choose to never behave in those hurtful ways again, and I feel no regret to any actions I may have undertaken in ignorance in the past.
It has all been a wonderfully humbling learning experience, and the gratitute that has accompanied all of this learning is simply too vast for my little soul to fathom.
