Clowning through life

This weekend, I had the fortune to be inspired by two amazing women, namely "Sparkle and "Jumpa".

Sparkle and Jumpa are clowns whom work at the Alberta Children's hospital, in Calgary. There they literally clown around, and make sick children and their adult families laugh until they cry. On some occasions when a very sick child passes away, they do sit with the family and cry..then laugh... then cry.

A story that Sparkle narrated to me, really hit home. She told me of a clown who was with a very sick child, and this clown was telling the child about "clown heaven". Clown heaven is the place where all the lost baloons that escape go, all the pet animals who die go there, circus animals, and of course all clowns go there to have a great ol' time together.
The sick girl asked the clown, how she could go to clown heaven, as she knew she was going to die very soon. THe clown promptly said, its very easy, all you have to do is be wearing your shiny clown nose, and then you go to clown heaven. Needless to say the little girl died shorty, but not without a smile on her face and a shiny clown nose on. She knew she was headed to a better place.
